All the seats at the table, however, are reserved for whomever the corporate media decides is fit to sit there. And there is an etiquette that must be observed: You can never say that those in power are liars and thieves. Which is why the straight-up truth rarely enters into the American political conversation. The truth about Social Security and Medicare is, the Bush Pirates’ goal is to destroy both programs, leaving the population at the total mercy of the “marketplace” – a euphemism for, rich people and their corporations.
